Serving at Holy Mass is a wonderful gift extended to young people in our parish. To be true, serving at the Altar is not only for the youth, adult men are welcome to attending trainings and assist at our Holy Masses.
I welcome all of our youth to show God genuine piety, uniting their innocent hearts to the Heart of the Savior, who gave Himself for our Heavenly Reward.
May the graces and merits that we receive from the Eucharist, be given to all of our souls, to grow in the virtues of faith, humility, and purity. Altar serving assists this communication of graces to all those who attend Holy Mass at Saint Anne Roman Catholic Church.
Altar serving is more than just a series of tasks; it is an apostolate and ministry that encourages a deeper union with Jesus Christ and a greater understanding of Holy Mass. By serving at the Altar, young people and adults are given a reverent opportunity to see the holy mysteries of the Catholic Faith closely, so that participation in the sacred rites is meaningful and transforming.
These virtues are of special importance:
Reverence: Altar servers learn to approach the altar with a sense of awe and respect, recognizing the presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
Responsibility: Serving at the Altar requires commitment and reliability, discipline and organization, servers must be punctual and detailed in duties.
Humility: Altar servers are reminded that their role is one of service to Jesus and His Church. To be near the Eucharist in worship, prayer, and emotion, brings to the soul the right understanding of our relationship with God.
